Since the start of the pandemic, Maglio Jr., a guitarist and sales manager, has posted a series of rock covers on his popular YouTube channel, featuring Tico’s impressive vocals.

Although Maglio Jr.’s guitar riffs are great, Tico steals the show: he sings, groans, vibrates, screams, harmonizes, and whistles along with the songs. Sometimes, he even scratches his head with his foot in the middle of the song—a skill that might even impress Axl Rose.
In an interview with a Florida news outlet earlier this year, Maglio Jr. shared that he began playing with Tico last March, when the coronavirus pandemic forced him, as a diabetic, to work indefinitely from home.
Although Tico has been part of the family for nearly two decades, Maglio Jr. says he wasn’t aware of Tico’s talent until one evening when Tico responded to his guitar strumming, much to the surprise and amazement of him and his wife.
“These birds are known for singing opera,” Maglio Jr. explained. “He completely messes up every song we do. He doesn’t vocalize the lyrics,” he joked. As for Tico’s popularity, he said, “This is the upside of it, that’s how I see it. You know, we’re stuck at home, for heaven’s sake.”
One of their videos, a cover of “Zombie” by The Cranberries, has been viewed over 120,000 times.
